Transportation Part 5
Some blogs you need to read either before this one or after this one to make complete sense of it all are:
- Why 49 Other States Should NOT Follow the New Utah Way
- This one is a series, and we recommend the entire 7 posts but this is the one you’ll need for this blog.
In the above blogs SmartUtah is addressed which is where most of this framework spawns from. That project was specifically Mike Leavitt and one other former governor’s baby. It is essentially digitalizing everything (modernizing is the word soup they like to use now so be aware).
Leavitt got all 50 governors to sign on and the rest is history, or more accurately, the horror show we are living with now.
He also brought “intelligent” transportation in during the 2002 Olympic Games
He was definitely pushing a “smart highway” back in 1998
Leavitt, and Utah, had been trying to inch towards demonizing vehicles and slowly cutting down on cars for a long time, this article by Desert News is from 1999. For example this quote:
“But some Utahns, with a wary eye to the future, are beginning to think this dependence on 3,000-pound hunks of metal isn’t so wise. They are heeding the early warning signs and exploring alternate forms of travel.”
Worse though is this quote:
“If official projections are anywhere close to being accurate and current trends continue, a Utahn of 2050 could be living a transportation nightmare. Commuting could take hours, not minutes. Freeways could become war zones for angry motorists with armed guards keeping watch. With parents spending more time on the road and less time with their children, families could be torn apart. That potentially bleak future was exposed in “Baseline Scenario,” a report from the Quality Growth Efficiency Tools Technical Committee. QGET is a publicly funded study and modeling group that reports to the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget. QGET’s efforts are closely aligned with Envision Utah, a consortium of private and public entities charged with preparing for Utah’s future.”
The above is pure insanity. It is now 2025 and we think it’s safe to say that was fear mongering nonsense. Oddly enough Utah is still listening to the same people who pushed this currently.
“Modern” Roadways
The screenshot below is from a federal transportation website that is only accessible via the wayback machine now. It is from 2017. You can see there are phases. We are right there in package 2.
We want to share a direct quote from this project:
“The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), with its foundational statewide network of fiber and legacy advanced transportation infrastructure, an urban connected vehicle deployment currently in final testing, and robust set of traveler information systems and services, proposes to expand the principles of Smart City deployment to become the first true Smart State in the country. Utah Connected builds upon the established technical, institutional, and private sector strategic relationships established across the State and throughout the region to address traffic congestion, mobility, and public safety concerns.”
The current website (UDOT) showing this charming Fiber Optic Network
Now, you may recall our current governor- Spencer Cox saying something along the lines of he doesn’t know what Jason Preston (We ARE The People) is talking about regarding smart cities- there are no smart cities according to Cox. He then proceeds to mock Jason and aggressively touches Jason Preston (We ARE The People). You can watch here. Well, as you can see it would be pretty hard to not know about smart cities considering the above declaration right? Just to further confirm that Cox for sure knew and does know about them, but worse, supports them please watch this video.
Time Stamps of importance:
- 9:36 – P3, teetering on cronyism and did they have the consent of the people?
- 11:43 – Utah the 5G state (please look up how 5G can harm your health)
- 12:45ish- Cox talks about being on a board that will be pushing a lot of this. Conflict?
- 14:20 ish- talks about being a carless community- can it be a show place for future cities and “clean air” – UN sustainable goals lingo. Pushing green mafia agenda.
- 16:44 – talks about our birthrate declining, and below replacement rate, even with a “good” economy.
- 19:03- hints at no more lanes. Put cars closer together via DRIVERLESS technology. Autonomous vehicles. He talks about electric cars and again pushes the UN green mafia agenda. Can’t build wider- but up into “airspace” above our roads. Talks about flying autonomous vehicles. Wonder who can afford those? They plan on having those for the Olympics by 2034.
- 21:40ish Acknowledges that a top paying job for non-higher education graduates is driving trucks. We’re just going to have to rethink those jobs “while we are living in our smart cities, and our smart cars are taking us, and everything smart” – “sometimes people aren’t smart enough for the job” – this is horrific frankly. Absolutely dystopian anti human crap. “New economy hasn’t found us yet” (while talking about the coal miner put out of business) – are you serious? Tell that to people who can’t put food on the table and keep their homes! Don’t worry, he doesn’t want us to forget these poor people. They’re just going to have to find something to do in the “new economy.”
- 24:05ish- talks about lifelong learning, “constant state of education and work.” This is part of communism, just as an fyi, if anyone cares. “MUST NOT LEAVE PEOPLE BEHIND.” Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
- 35:20 ish- thinks it’s weird that the UIPA is controversial. Clearly, he is out of touch, seriously. Both sides are mad.
- 38:40 ish- most environmentally friendly port- then goes into hydrogen. This is concerning, and you all should research hydrogen, especially considering the constant “water crisis” that is being created IOHO by the politician’s bad choices. Proceeds to talk about pimping Utah out to other states for aerospace. Doesn’t want trucks on the road, so those truck drivers are going to be in trouble, job wise.
- 40:19ish in talks about SITLA- that’s for another blog but what he says here is interesting considering the “megaregions” from EDCUtah.
- 43:35ish- talks about tech ridge and making it another silicon slopes. Super concerning considering what has happened to Utah since bringing the tech sector here, which was intentional: “Still, it fulfills a mission that the state really started investing in at the start of 2000, Brown said, under then-Gov. Mike Leavitt — who famously vowed to spend more time in Silicon Valley then, studying how it was structured, than the governor of California did.” Source
Okay, now with that out of the way we will point out one more thing: Obama put Mike Leavitt’s SmartUtah which turned into Smart States, into law. Read it here.
“the Administration is announcing a new “Smart Cities” Initiative that will invest over $160 million in federal research and leverage more than 25 new technology collaborations to help local communities tackle key challenges such as reducing traffic congestion, fighting crime, fostering economic growth, managing the effects of a changing climate, and improving the delivery of city services.”
You get the idea. With all of that out of the way let’s cut to the chase and dig into the big brother they have planned for Utah, specifically via transportation.
V2X
So, remember how we mentioned SB189 in our last article? Well, that’s core to this “connected” surveillance transportation system. This document talks about 5G America and V2X- it was published in 2016, “As its name implies, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications and its solutions enable the exchange of information between vehicles and between vehicle network infrastructure. The goal of V2X is to improve road safety, increase the efficient flow of traffic, reduce environmental impacts and provide additional traveler information services. V2X communications consists of four types of communications: vehicle-to vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), vehicle-to-network, (V2N) and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P).”
A fun name they have given Utah’s big project is “connect the west.”
Wonder why UDOT got rid of these pages– even in wayback machine?
YIKES! That is NOT for our safety. It may have started out that way, but we would hope that you all can see how this is a total and complete violation of our 4th amendment rights, possibly 5th and more. We keep giving up our freedom, control over OUR OWN INFORMATION/DATA, for convenience and “safety.”
Is it safe to hand over your life to the government? We aren’t being hyperbolic. If you can’t get in your car without big brother (government- global not just national) in every single corner of your car, home, phone, now roadways as well, watching you, what do you call that? That should seriously alarm you. The fact that so many people, not just Americans, are going along with this is one of the saddest things we’ve ever seen. It’s unbelievably invasive and totalitarian. What kind of country are you leaving to your kids? We don’t want their version of “safety” if this is how they get it. How anyone could possibly think this is “progress” is mind blowing. This is slavery.
Just to give you an idea of what China has let’s take a look at one of their own documents:
Does this not look familiar Utah? What on earth are we doing? Utah has been taking in substantial funding for transportation and electrification of our transit system.
Below are just some highlights of funding. By no means is this a comlplete list.
Here is an example of the pure insanity IOHO of Utah and their “Unified Transportation Plan” funding desires.
Keep in mind this V2X project is tied to the federal government. This is from the FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS website:
Project Profile: Utah “Smart Roadways” Transportation Data Network
“The Cirrus system creates a network where motorists, vehicles, infrastructure, and roadway installations can share data to provide updates on crashes, stalled vehicles, and severe weather. It also allows traffic managers to send out alerts to inform CAV drivers in real-time with alternate routes, delay times, or other helpful information.
The foundation of Cirrus is an internet-of-things application program interface layer that lets departments use V2X as a data source for sensing roadway conditions in real time. For instance, onboard units may sense slight tire slippage as roads freeze even before drivers notice. Panasonic secures the data that Cirrus handles by anonymizing it. The vehicles change their signatures to the system at randomized intervals, and the company uses a security credentialing management system similar to that of the U.S. DOT.
As part of the $50 million partnership, Panasonic will help UDOT install intelligent sensors along selected sections of Utah highways. These standards-based sensors, along with similar vehicle-mounted software and equipment, will collect and transmit data at speeds up to 10 times per second, which is then shared with a central cloud-based system. This central software platform monitors the information and automatically generates alerts that are shared with vehicles, infrastructure components (such as traffic signals or VMS signs), and UDOT personnel.
Once the system is implemented, Utah will be able to accommodate the incoming wave of smart vehicles and operate more safely and more efficiently through communication among vehicles, signs, signals, and other sensors. In addition to having a real-time, full situational awareness of the state’s transportation system, UDOT will also be able to identify traffic chokepoints and use the data network to help reduce congestion and keep traffic moving.”
TERRIFYING! Imagine a lockdown- forced injections into your body- against your will? Imagine being tagged with a symbol on your clothing, or carrying a piece of paper to allow your movements? Imagine if your government turns on your free speech and starts putting people in jail for speaking, or memes? Imagine not being able to leave when or if you need to? Imagine being watched, tracked, and always monitored. What about your government or another country – a hostile one- being able to remote access your car, or cameras monitoring your movements, or your data? What happens then?
We still cannot believe that Utah, of all states, has fallen for this and views this as not only acceptable but good. They are promoting this, taking money for this, and trying to defend this. It’s inexcusable in our opinion. This is such a violation of privacy, of basic human rights, it’s shocking.
It would appear a lot of this is for the games in 2034. Utah is intended to be presented as some smart state pilot cherry on top of poop sunday.
That’ll do it for this blog. More on transportation coming.
As usual: for entertainment purposes only.

2014- “Many smart technology solutions are already feasible. Cities can develop advanced traffic management systems, including traffic cameras, variable message signs, traffic detectors, weather stations, traffic websites, and mobile apps to improve urban transport. The state of Utah’s traffic monitoring system, for instance, allows remote access for monitoring and adjusting the timing of 80% of the traffic signals in the state. The UPLAN platform has also been used as far as Mbirikani, Kenya to support planning and monitoring, proving that these systems can be applied in global context.” https://thecityfix.com/blog/building-city-future-smart-connected-urban-transport-integrated-communication-efficiency-meeting-minds-gordon-feller/

oneM2M – THE GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP PROJECT FOR DEVELOPING OPEN STANDARDS FOR INTEROPERABLE IOT SYSTEMS – COMPLETES 10 YEARS
The initial goal was to define a horizontal architecture and common service functions that would act as the glue linking data-producing sensors and data-consuming applications. oneM2M’s resulting ‘middleware’ capability could therefore be used across many verticals, from connected factories to smart cities. Its design would also re-use established technologies to avoid re-invention and make best use of legacy installations. https://www.onem2m.org/iot-news/802-onem2m-completes-10-years
