Make sure you read Part 1 here and Part 2 here. They each stand on their own but if you want to have the foundation to understand this article those will help.
Utah and the “Vision” Agenda
Let’s start with what “Vision Zero” is:
“Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. First implemented in Sweden in the 1990s, Vision Zero has proved successful across Europe — and now it’s gaining momentum in major American cities.” Straight from the horse’s mouth- Vision Zero Network
A few things of note right from the get-go:
- How do you get zero fatalities?
- Equitable does not mean equal as we all know now. So, the goal here is communism. Bring everything down to the lowest quality.
- Sweden is not comparable to the United States whatsoever. It’s tiny. Europe isn’t even comparable, but we do have some information from the UK specifically. The people hate it and have been actively working to get rid of “vision zero.”
So what? Utah isn’t doing this right? Wrong. Salt Lake City is leading the way:
You can read all about SLC’s fascinating goals here. And you can see all the cities that have signed up for this madness here.
SLC really tries to word salad the public into thinking this is a good thing. You can see in the screenshot below how they trick you. Again, we will ask, how do you get ZERO fatalities? Remember that is the actual goal- hence “vision zero” but as you can see, they say, “traffic deaths are preventable” so you go “yeah, yeah they are,” and boom we’re off to the races. Control is how you can make some “preventable” to such a point that ZERO is your goal. “Integrate human failures in approach”- wow, what do you think that means? Traffic calming is part of this. You the public are just a bit too dumb and wild, so we have to put in all sorts of random “calming” measures to get you to behave how we want (shhhh it’s really to cause congestion.) These can range from lower speed limits to fees for older cars, or medians randomly put in- making the streets hard to navigate or downsized by a lane. How does one PREVENT fatal and severe crashes while out on the road? Would that be autonomous vehicles and total surveillance? You get the idea. This is not freedom.
We wish we could say this is a one off from SLC, that they’re doing their usual crazy commie stuff but alas it’s not.
Here is the Utah House Majority tweetn’ up “zero fatalities” and a bill to make your car a weapon, yeah, not joking.
Below are some fun screenshots from a propaganda presentation given to our legislature- who ended up passing HB30. You can look at the full presentation here.
Like most things we suspect you know where it came from:
“Why the UN Road Safety Strategy is important to UNDSS(United Nations Department for Safety and Security)? Road traffic crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury to United Nations personnel. Road traffic crashes involving UN vehicles are also a cause of fatalities and serious injuries in the communities we serve. The UN Road Safety Strategy was launched in 2019, with the objective of reducing the number of road crashes by 50 per cent by 2030.” Source (Secret for you, in America it started way earlier, around late 90s early 2000s)
And should you think it’s just the UN let us help you with that. It is VizionZero Network and the World Health Organization as well. Wonder who gave Utah legislature all these transportation bills to line right up with these agenda items?
And here is our state: “Utah’s goal of Zero Fatalities supports larger goals nationwide and globally.” Oh, how interesting, so globally would be the UN and WHO then?
“In 2003, several Utah agencies came together to form the Utah Safety Leadership Executive Committee (USLEC). This united effort began years before there existed a federal requirement to form such a team. The group began meeting on a regular basis to address the growing number of traffic-related fatalities. The goal was to create a comprehensive, integrated plan aimed at reducing serious injuries and fatalities, with the ultimate goal of Zero Fatalities on Utah’s roads. To maximize their efforts, additional safety advocates were asked to join the team. This new, expanded group is called the Utah Safety Leadership Committee, which continues to grow as our program develops. This united approach is working. Traffic fatalities in Utah have continued on a declining trend for the past 15 years.
Utah’s ultimate goal is Zero Fatalities. The loss of even one life is too many. Think about it this way: When you ask someone how many of their loved ones they are willing to lose on the road this year, everyone has the same answer: zero. The Zero Fatalities goal is the foundation of the Utah Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). All of the emphasis areas are data driven and are designed to help Utah reach its ultimate goal — Zero Fatalities.
The SHSP is the culmination of the joint efforts of all traffic safety organizations in Utah and sets the direction for our future collective safety efforts. It cannot be focused on one organization or one specific area of concern. The Plan recognizes the importance each discipline plays in improving safety. Each organization has developed their own safety plan and implementation efforts in their specific area. As the various groups coordinate their safety plans, the Strategic Highway Safety Plan guides and incorporates many of the goals and objectives from the various plans. This Strategic Highway Safety Plan website is intended to coordinate safety efforts for the next 5 years, beginning in 2021.
Utah’s goal of Zero Fatalities supports larger goals nationwide and globally. The national strategy on highway safety, Toward Zero Deaths, sets the vision for traffic fatalities in the United States.”
What is the end goal of Vision Zero and Zero Fatalities? If the “vision” is to have zero fatalities, how is that achieved? No more humans, or does that mean humans will no longer be driving their cars (autonomous cars only)? Does it mean only mass transit will be allowed? These questions need direct answers- not gaslighting or word salad. They need direct explanations of how they are going to achieve these things while keeping individual choice, unless individual choice and privacy is not the goal.
What is the opposite of individual responsibility? How do you remove or control individual responsibility without taking away rights ouright?
Behavior modification. What do these modifications they are inching towards lead to? No independent travel.
What happens when not everyone wants to be part of the “system” or part of “vision zero”? What is the plan for them?
- Traffic deaths are preventable – we addressed that above a bit but let’s flesh that out even more. If you are from Utah and you have been observing what’s happened to SLC and is now spreading like a cancer across the state, then you will see planning designs that are minimizing car access or lanes. More bike pathways are being installed and mass transit hubs. That of course is leading to more congestion (not helping it), then people complain, then groups like Envision Utah or WFRC bring up all the traffic and how we must solve it. It is not always, but often times, a created issue. Utah used to be known for it’s wide roads and easy to move through downtown, that is not the case anymore. So by preventable do they mean working towards less individual cars and human drivers?
The legislator passed SB125 that electrifies our entire transit system. We bring that up because it will be and is utilizing surveillance and data mining but also we will be going over the ASPIRE project in part 4, and folks, that’s really where the rubber hits the road.
